The International Women's Club in Baku hosted the first Christmas Bazaar in Baku in 1995. Every year on the morning of the bazaar, which takes place in November, people line up outside the front door waiting for it to be unlocked . The club is known for the high quality of the items it sells, including wonderful handmade arts and crafts, wreaths, and homemade baked goods and deli items. Tea and mulled wine is now offered with many other international food stalls. A raffle is also always part of the bazaar with the winner taking a trip to London for two last year. Christmas Bazaar proceeds are the major fundraiser for the IWC and so are the proceeds from the IWC Craft Stall. These funds maintain and run the IWC Charity Projects.
This year's popular Christmas bazaar committee is being co chaired by Christie Streetman and Kim Slocum and is being held on Sunday 20th November in the Kishmish Hall of the Hyatt Hotel. Lots of help is needed to make craft and to run stalls.
